Pelagos Ultra

New Pelagos Ultra

Engineered specifically to overcome the challenges associated with saturation diving, this is the most technically capable Pelagos ever made, with 1,000 metres of water resistance, a proprietary bracelet adjustment system, and a 43mm titanium case. It represents a giant stride in technical advancements with a Master Chronometer Certification from METAS.

REACHING NEW DEPTHS

The Pelagos Ultra model joins the TUDOR family of technical divers' watches with a range-topping 1,000 metres of water resistance.

Pelagos Ultra dial

TUDOR took a standard Pelagos, already one of the most capable divers’ watches out there, and asked the simple question: What criteria would it need to meet for deep sea exploration? What would allow it to stand up to the technical challenges of operating in the twilight zone from 200 metres to 1,000 metres? The answer is the Pelagos Ultra. Its titanium case has grown to 43mm to meet a staggering depth rating of 1,000 metres. Luminescence has been thought through to increase visibility with two different colours: blue and green. The bracelet has also been completely redesigned with this deep-diving brief in mind. This watch is an exercise in extremes, an idea born from “what if?”. It’s the product of designing without limits.

TITANIUM BRACELET AND RUBBER STRAP

The Pelagos Ultra model is supplied with an entirely satin-brushed titanium bracelet that is equipped with a special adjustable clasp for rapid length adjustment. There is a visual indicator on the clasp that includes a luminous marker to easily discern what setting the bracelet is at, a first for the Pelagos line. The Pelagos Ultra also comes with a second strap made of black rubber, with a titanium pin buckle, that attaches to the case with titanium end links. Also included is a rubber extension piece that makes it possible to lengthen the strap even further, by up to 110 millimetres.

PATENTED AUTO-ADJUSTABLE BUCKLE

The Pelagos stands out with its titanium bracelet featuring a steel folding clasp with a unique auto-adjustable spring mechanism developed and patented by TUDOR. This technical system allows the bracelet to be adjusted during the dive, contracting when the combination is compressed at greater depths, and expanding when the pressure decreases again during the diver’s return to the surface. A complimentary rubber strap is also provided, equipped with an extension system that makes it easily adjustable for all diving conditions.

The Pelagos 39 is equiped with the TUDOR “T-fit” clasp, which allows for rapid length adjustment. Easy to use, requiring no tools and offering five positions, this system allows the wearer to carry out a fine, instant adjustment of the total length of the bracelet along an adjustment window of 8 millimetres. This clasp also has a 25-millimetre bracelet extension function to allow the watch to be worn over a wetsuit.

“SNOWFLAKE” HANDS

The hands of the Pelagos, particularly the hour hand with its characteristic square tip, allow the wearer to distinguish it from the minute hand, at a glance. Known in collectors’ circles as “Snowflake”, this feature is emblematic of TUDOR divers’ watches from 1969 onwards.

THE MANUFACTURE CALIBRE

The Pelagos models are powered by TUDOR Manufacture Calibres, providing high performance robustness, reliability and precision. Their power reserve of approximately 70 hours means that the owner can, for example, take off the watch on Friday evening and put it on again on Monday morning without having to wind it. In addition to the hour, minute and central second functions, some models provide an instantaneous jump date display visible through an aperture positioned at 3 o'clock.

HELIUM ESCAPE VALVE

The TUDOR Pelagos and Pelagos LHD models are guaranteed to a depth of 500 metres and equipped with a helium escape valve, an essential device for preserving the watch during so-called “saturation” dives.

A VERSION FOR LEFT-HANDED DIVERS

Named LHD for Left Hand Drive, the Pelagos for left-handed divers features a winding stem positioned to the left of the case, so that the watch can be worn on the right wrist. In a nod to its past, the TUDOR Pelagos evokes the brand's history of dive watches designed specifically for left-handed professional divers. During the 1970s, the French Navy commissioned bespoke models for its left-handed divers.

LUMINOUS MARKERS

The ceramic disc of the titanium unidirectional rotating bezel features luminous markers that allow for all information to be read even in extreme conditions of low visibility.
