TUDOR Lights Up London With The Story of Daring Explorers
See the British North Greenland Expedition in all its 3-D glory.
It takes a lot to capture the attention of the bustling crowds at Piccadilly Circus, but if one thing can do it, it’s the massive LCD sign at the northwest corner of the traffic circle. Recently, TUDOR took over the most prominent display to give the people of London a brief tour of TUDOR’s rich history, celebrating the daring spirit of the British North Greenland Expedition that took place in 1952.
The 3-D display features brilliant images of the 30 men who took part in the expedition, and the important tools that supported them. Among these are the Handley Page HP.67 Hastings transport aircraft that made supply drops a mere 15 meters above the ground, an M29 Weasel with tracks to help get through the thick snow, and of course a TUDOR Oyster Prince that proved to be incredibly valuable over the two years the teams spent on the ice.
The visual essay concludes with a brilliant three-dimensional image of new Ranger, a watch that honors those who dared to explore one of the most frigid and unknown corners of the globe way back in 1952.
